CHIME, Sullivan Iheanacho; lawyer, administrator and governor of Enugu State from 2007-2015. Chime was born in Udi town, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu State on April 10, 1959. His mother, Theresa Ekpeluchi Chime died at 87, while he was governor[i]. He had had also parted ways with his wife in the 1980s, though the union was blessed with four children – two boys and two girls. In his second year as governor, Chime married Clara, a lady in her twenties who hail from Umu-meze Amuda Isuochi in Abia State[ii].
Chime studied at the College of Immaculate Conception, CIC, Enugu; University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, and Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He was called to bar on July 10, 1981. He started his public career service as private legal practitioner, based in Enugu but traversing the whole of Nigeria and elsewhere in legal practices. He was at various times secretary, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Enugu branch; Special Adviser on legal matters to Chimaroke Nnamani, the immediate previous governor of Enugu State: 1999 – 2001; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Enugu State, 2001 – 2007. He was elected governor of Enugu State on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on the general elections held on April 14, 2007[iii].
