Akpo-Mudiaga Odje; Nigerian lawyer who in his agitation for resource control and development issues launched an uncompromising stance against the establishment in the Niger Delta region. With his delivery of a score of speeches and lectures locally and abroad in schools, professional institutions and seminars, Akpo-Mudiaga established himself as a skilled activist. Akpo-Musiaga wrote his first book in 2002: The Challenges of True Federalism and Resource Control, in 2002 where he captured 48 years of Nigeria’s Constitutional Evolution in 548-pages. The book won an Admark award.
Akpo-Mudiaga was born on 26 October 1966 into the family of a legal heavy weight, Dr. Muduiaga Odje. He was Special Assistant to the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State; Secretary to the Delta State legal defence team in the ‘Resource Control’ suit at the Supreme Court, in 2002; and was a representative of Delta State in the National Assembly Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution. In 2006, he was appointed by the PDP National Secretariat as the chairman, House of Assembly screening committee for Ebonyi State. Akpo-Mudiaga received the Citizen of Excellence Award from African Development & Merit Award Council, AD MAC, an affiliate of UNESCO. He has also been honoured by the Commonwealth University College Institute of Arts and Science, Belize[i].
